Finding Strength:
Amidst Unexpected Loss

Hello Reader,,

I hope this newsletter finds you amidst the best times, moments of healing and reflection. Life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs our way, and sadly, we find ourselves facing unimaginable loss and heartache. I want you to know that during these difficult times, it's okay to feel overwhelmed, to grieve, and to take the necessary time to heal.

While I'm in the storm I want to share with you how I choose to navigate this storm.

Recently, I experienced the sudden passing of my sister, and it is a profound challenge for me both personally and professionally. There was so much I thought I would have time to say.

I understand firsthand the delicate balance between honoring our emotions and continuing to move forward. It's during these moments when our commitment to ourselves truly shines through.

In the past, I struggled with procrastination and I would take an opportunity like this to really do nothing not only because I don't feel like it but because I'm afraid.

As we navigate through the aftermath of unexpected things especially loss, it is important to remember that healing doesn't mean forgetting.

It means finding the strength to carry on, even in the face of immense sorrow.

So, how do we move forward without disappointing others or ourselves?

Firstly, acknowledge your grief and allow yourself the space to mourn. Understand that it's okay to reschedule commitments and give yourself permission to prioritize self-care.

When my mom passed, I was in the darkest place and I had no clue how to continue doing life. I felt like I was in this world alone although the reality was I wasn't. I didn't know how to process my emotions, I didn't want to be bothered and I told myself I no longer cared.

But, I did care I just didn't know how to manage my feelings. My husband convinced me to seek counseling and I feel in love with the idea of living all over again.

Because of that, even though I am truly hurt that my sister is no longer here I know how to keep trying without giving up so quick.

I am looking forward to my therapy session tomorrow, it feels so good recognizing growth.

Allow yourself the grace to honor both your personal needs and your professional responsibilities. The funeral service is during a time that I had planned a special gift for my audience, instead of letting you all down during my peaks I am planning ahead because no matter what happens in life, you must fight!

Secondly, communicate openly to the best of your ability.

Lastly, remember that progress is not always linear. Some days may be more difficult than others, and that's okay. Set realistic expectations for yourself and celebrate the small victories along the way.

Moving forward is a testament to your resilience and determination, even when the weight of sadness feels unbearable.

When life throws you a curveball; I encourage you to lean on your support system, both personally and professionally.

Surround yourself with understanding individuals who can offer comfort and guidance. Remember that it's alright to honor your emotions while still honoring your commitments.

It was death for me, it may be financial loss, a sick child or heartbreak for you.

What I am saying is no matter what "unexpected thing" happens to you, choose you because your life is worth living!

Together, we win navigating the ebb and flow of life's unexpected challenges, rising stronger and more compassionate than ever before.

The journey may be painful, but our commitment to keep moving forward is a testament to our strength.

We got this 👍🏽
